The Sew Sisters: Judy and Karen |
We have been selling fabric online and at shows since 1999.
We opened the doors to our new store at 3881 Chesswood Drive in North York (Toronto) Ontario, Canada on September 12, 2007.
We have a 1,000 square foot warehouse that features approximately 1,000 bolts of fabric as well as books, notions, patterns and more. We offer top quality quilt fabric at discount prices.
You can shop with us in four ways:
- in person at our warehouse location.
- at local quilt shows including the Creativ Festival.
- Online at our secure website.
- on eBay.

Judy Baldwin |
Judy is the “baby” Sew Sister. A former high school teacher, she began quilting in 1999 after the birth of her first son. Judy loves 1930s quilts and collects feedsacks both old and reproduction and depression era quilts. Judy is the day to day manager of the store and also maintains the online catalogue.

Sandy Green |
Hailing from Scotland and newly retired from a banking career, Sandy brings a great deal of enthusiasm and energy to her quilting. A prolific quilter, Sandy loves to experiment with new techniques and take on big challenges. This year Sandy completed her Dear Jane Quilt which was an awesome achievement. Sandy loves crazy quilting, pink and green and travelling (not necessarily in that order). Sandy has also been quilting and crocheting since her childhood.

Monika Jakob |
Monika's passion is dressmaking which she learned in Germany. Monika has a love of teaching and helping other people improve their skills. She has been quilting for the last 7 years and tends to stay up till all hours to sew! Monika is addicted to it and says her neglected garden is the proof! She likes bright and bold colors and her technical skills are superb. Monika is also a highly skilled “European Style” knitter!

Karen Kraemer |
Karen is the “big” sister. Karen lives in Guelph and is the behind-the-scenes “brains” of the operation. You can meet her at all the quilt shows we visit throughout the year. She started quilting about 16 years ago and has a penchant for Mennonite-made quilts. Karen loves how quilting evokes feelings of simpler long-ago times.

| Hilma McConnell |
Hilma is our resident Sewing Machine “guru” and smile machine! If you have a question about your machine Hilma is sure to have the answer – with a smile, a story and a good laugh! From embroidery machines to sergers Hilma really does know it all! Hilma also has a passion for knitting. Whether by hand or machine Hilma is here for you. When not knitting or sewing you will find Hilma doing smocking …is there anything she can’t do?
